D&Print- stamping
My 1st stamping went pretty well and only had to carve out a few more pieces of lino before it met my(teacher's) satisfaction (I was still in aw of the fact that lino is not a type of metal haha). So everything went great the 1st day and then trouble came on the 2nd day aka: innocent Tuesday. For some reason my lino started cracking and over the next couple days I had to be carful to get paiant in the cracks, otherwise you could see them when I made a print/stamp. The teach doesn't know why it's doing this and I have to say it freaked the living daylight out of me when she said I'd have to carve a new stamp if the cracks became unmanagable. They're very managable in my eyes :) does anyone know or have any idea as to what caused or why my lino cracked?

My guess is that washing the lino made it crack...just a guess, though. You're right - lino NOT a metal...?!
ReplyDeleteSomething I always take into account when grading is the problem-sovling I observe. You were presented with a large challenge, but you seem to be making it all work out. I like the experimentation on mat board. Think about layering & multiples.
ReplyDeletei cant really say whats causing the damage but research on art mediums is alwas a good place to start, also you could try serching for some product to mend the cracks.
ReplyDeletehaha umm yeah i had honestly thought lino was a type of metal-definitely didn't make the connection to the floor stuff
